How Many Trolleys Do I Need For My Sliding Door
Introduction:
Sliding doors, known for their modern aesthetics and space-saving advantages, have gained popularity in homes and offices. When it comes to installing or upgrading a sliding door, a critical consideration is determining the appropriate number of trolleys required for optimal performance. In this blog post, we will delve into the factors influencing the choice of trolleys and guide you on calculating the right number for your sliding door.
Understanding Sliding Door Trolleys:
Trolleys are integral to the functionality of sliding doors, enabling seamless movement along the track. Trolleys are 2 Wheel, 4 Wheel or even 8 Wheel, so it is important to pay attention to the load rating of each trolley.
How many Trolleys do I need for my sliding door?
We always recommend 2 trolleys per door. This keeps the door stable and allows it to roll smoothly and evenly.
What if I need more than 2 Trolleys on my door?
While it is possible to mount doors with 3 trolleys, in order for all trolleys to work they must be perfectly aligned. If the middle trolley is mounted too low, the door will pivot and see-saw from end to end. If the middle trolley is too high, the door will rest on the end trolleys anyway, leaving the middle trolley unused.
What if my door is too heavy for two trolleys?
If your door is heavier than the load rating of the two trolleys, in most cases the best thing to do is to go up a size in track. At CoSlide, we have a range of track ratings up to 2000kg - so almost all door sizes are covered in our range.
